Frequently Asked Question

When does the Season Start and End?

Season runs from November to May for or 16/18 team.  The younger teams will have a shorter season and will travel less than the older teams.  However, due to the flexibility of the boys volleyball format we accept players well into March.

What does the season look like for players?

The 16/18 team will start light practice every other week in November and December.  January will start with one 3 hour practice each week.  Practices may extend to a second day from March to May.  The 12/14 teams will start in January until March.  There will be an opportunity to extend the season until May with feedback from parents.  There is usually one tournament per month and depending on the division of the team they will play 2 to 5 tournaments per season.

When are tryouts?

We conduct tryouts throughout the season.  Boys Volleyball is still new in our region.  Many teams around the state are taking on new players all season.  We also participate in the ERVA Tri-Cities’ Boys Volleyball Draft.  This is a series of Clinics in October focused on teaching boys volleyball to all ages.  It also gives players and coaches the ability to work together and determine if players want to take it to the next level by joining a team.

What is the Cost?

Cost varies based on the number of players on each team and the number of tournaments the team competes in.  As a non-profit we try to keep the costs as low as possible.   We conduct fundraisers throughout the season.  We also work to get sponsors for players that can’t afford to pay any or all of their membership.

Do Teams Play Against Girls?

The 16/18 teams can not play against girls unless we scrimmage one of the local club teams.  The 12/14 may play local tournaments against girls and will play boys teams in the Western Boys Power League Tournaments as well as any regional boys tournaments.
